The Definition of Coastal Zone and ICZM Studies in Iran

The base of any management approaches regarding to ICZM/ refers to definition of Costal zone. Up to now we are facing a large Variety of definitions. Some countries consider the Coastal zone as an area limited between Coastal water line and land. Some others define Coastal zone as an area limited between the external limit of catchments basin and land-water line. Concerning to Iran Coastal zone are expanded between internal water of sea and 60 m to 600 m toward in land. This Conception of « Coastal zone » are Value for triple Iranian Coastal zone.
