The role of health education on pap smear doing forprevention of cervix cancer

Prediagnosing cancer and its treatment is a universal and vital subject. Cervix cancer, is one of the most prevalent cancers among women, and can be diagnosed in ante malignant stage. Pap - smear test is one of the tests we use for screening and Prediagnosing cervix cancer. | Materials and methods: This survey is cross over study which is done on the basis of health education, for women teacherʹs knowledge, attitude, practice on pap - smear test for the prevention of cervix cancer based on four variable namely, training, knowledge, attitude and practice. The method of research is like this: the surveyor has established a specific situation which is the same as performing the health education and is done in two stages namely pretest, and post test. The effect of health education in the above mentioned variable has been assessed. The necessary information has been collected through questionnaires before and after performing health education. | Results: The finding of the research indicates that health education has some effect on the promoting of knowledge and the establ ishment of positive attitude change (P < 0.05). however, it has not had any effect on promotion of the performance of the target group. There is a meaningful difference between knowledge mean scores and attitude mean scores before and after health education (P < 0.05); but, no meaningful difference was observed between the performance mean scores of the population before and after health education (P< 0.05). | Conclusion: Training hygiene and health of the womenʹs genital organs should be taught by specialistʹs physician and other sources.
