An Introduction to the Theoretical Position of Community-Oriented Police Approach

The community-oriented polices approach, as one of the serious pat- terns in maintaining and supplying security, has become publicly accepted in the recent decades. Community-oriented police, as the policing dominant approach, has been attempting to meet security related requirements of the society through identifying and activating social cooperation mechanisms. The approach has been formed through debating development in the socialized security atmosphere, however, polices efficiency is considered to be the result of mutual relationship between police and the public. Firstly, the survey deals with considering the concept of community-oriented police. Secondly, it expresses the position of community-oriented police through delineating theoretical pattern and benefiting from two approaches: separation and competition; and finally comes to a conclusion.
