Victimology, a New Attitude toward Victims

This article deals with introducing a new attitude toward criminology which is called victimology This branch of criminology deals with the phenomenon of delinquency with concentration on victims. It is be- lieved that there is no hunter unless there is a hunt; and based on this, crime is considered to be the result of mutual relationship between vie-tim and criminal. According to the latest findings in this field, the crime victim who was considered to be violated and innocent; and deserved support, through his social behavior and his interaction with others can inspire them with criminal thoughts and lead to crime commitment and foremost can be aware of crime while he himself has had priority in committing crime; and due to an external incident or due to lack of physical ability, instead of committing a crime, becomes crime victim. Therefore, at least in some crimes and for a group of felons, harmed person himself can be either source of crime commitment or an effective element in crime formation process. This reality in its own turn has led to some sort of development in preventive criminology, so that today a new type of prevention known as victimology prevention which is considered to be a branch of ordinal prevention from delinquency which is utilized in criminal politics and is welcomed more and more day by day
