Sociological survey on the Impact of Modern Information Technologies (Satellite and Internet) on Young Boyʹs Identity in Boukan Payam-e-Nour University

The present research has considered internet and satellite as a cultural phenomenon, and has aimed at investigating their impact on identity of young boys in Boukan. The research method is of descriptive-survey type. The survey community is boy students of Boukan Payam-e-Nour University ranging from 19 to 29 years old. N = 120 selected through random sampling and using Cockran formula. The measurement tool is questionnaire and response method is based on Lickert system, and the options range from absolutely disagree to absolutely agree. SPSS is used for analyzing the descriptive and deductive data (Pearson correlation Coefficient). The research hypotheses surveys the existence of a significant relationship between the level of access to modern information technologies (satellite and internet) and identity (individual, family, ethnic, religious) among young boys. It is noteworthy that the research hypotheses are confirmed which are resulted from penetration of modern technologies and values proportionate with it. Modern technologies gradually become influential and evolve the ethnic and religious identity of the youth in Boukan or have faced them with identity crisis. The general conclusion indicates that internet and satellite as new phenomena have the highest impact on the youth. Youth use internet and satellite for entertainment, in addition to using them for research. There is a significant relationship between modern technologies and the religious and ethnic identity of young boys in Boukan. At the end, some recommendations are of- fered. Attaching importance to ethnic language is an effective factor, which forms identity and using the existing conditions for making individuals aware of their races history, and social issues are among recommendations offered in the article.
