Reflection of the National Epic in Masoud Saʹdʹs Poetry

From its inception, Ferdowsiʹs Shahnameh has continued its glorious auspicious cultural-literary presence as a nascent fountain of epic, heroic, wisdom and moral themes and also as a mirror reflecting national and mythological rites. A man of letter whose poetry is dynamically influenced by Shahnameh is Masoud Saʹd Salman. He has prepared a selection called ʹEkhtiarat Shahnamehʹ. He has been under the influence of Shahnameh for various reasons, all of which are reflected in his poetry. Iranian, man of letter, commander, poet, scribe, noble.... are but a few of his characteristics. Ferdowsiʹs impact on Masoudʹs style makes his poetry strong and also gives it an epic color.
