Photography and Public Culture

Throughout history the man has constantly expended efforts to establish relations with his/her fellow creatures and environment and since prehistoric times has found the image to be one of the important ways to express his/her thoughts and ideas. As human managed in previous centuries to adequately understand language and take full advantage of this knowledge, obtaining knowledge about the image to requires contemporary man to understand certain points. In the current world they can be seen a resurgence of interest in the language of images for the purpose of faster delivery of messages and this confirms human unchanging predisposition towards visual messages rather than speech and writing. Since long times ago human have had various reasons to create images, most significantly in order to satisfy certain needs. His need to express feeling and thought, to establish relations and so on has eventually led human to engage in different activities to satisfy these needs. The invention of photography in the world marked the beginning of a grand move towards making visual links of communication among people and societies. This article, is aimed at showing the importance of language image and its influential role in establishing and expanding relations among people, groups, societies and civilizations.
