Role of Military Doctrine in Realization of the Foreign Policy Goals of Russian Federation

While restoring its place in the global arena, Russia has attracted universal attention once again. In order to appropriately regulate Iranʹs future security policy, it is important to be aware of the way of formation of the Russian security system as well as to have the ability to analyze the fundamental believes of the Russian government. Therefore, by consideration of the most important Russian security documents including the doctrine of national security and political and military strategy, this paper attempts to assess one of the most effective elements in Russian behavior namely, military - political relationship. The main issue to analysis in this paper is the degree of integration between the Russian military and political strategy through which the role of Russian defense strategy in realization of its foreign policy goals is highlighted.
