يك اثر ادبي را از جهات گوناگون ميتوان مورد بررسي و ارزيابي سبك شناسي قرار داد. اين پژوهش برآنست كه درونمايه هاي فكري مولانا را در رباعيات بكاود تا پي برده شود كه رباعيات او هر چند در كلّيات درونمايه ها با غزلها و مثنوي مشتركست امّا داراي امتيازاتي چون: اختصار و ايجاز، سادگي، صميميّت و... است كه آنها را از ديگر آثار مولانا متمايز ميكند. رباعيات وي داراي افكار و انديشه هاي والاست كه اثبات ميكنند بر حسب تفنّن و سرگرمي سروده نشده است. لازم بذكرست در زمين? رباعيات مولانا و سبك شناسي آنها تاكنون پژوهشهايي در خور توجه انجام نگرفته است.
