Post Development Position of Iran Among OPEC Countries

Importance of transportation, communication and especially the post industry and their effects on the industrial process, economic growth and development is well understood in the present world. One of the main aims during the 4th socio-cultural and economic development plan in Iran has been development of communication and information technologies, actualization of knowledge based economy and achievement a higher rank in the region by making high substructure capacity in multimedia. In order to actualize the plans and to achieve the long term goals, one should understand the present situation of Iran among region and the neighboring countries. In this paper, we have used the Numerical Taxonomy Analysis in order to rank important development index in ICT, namely the post development. Information including 33 main indexes corresponding cross OPEC countries post service during 2005 is summarized. The results indicate that Indonesia and Iraq with the degrees of development 0.61 and 0.92 ranked highest and lowest post developed countries, respectively. Iran with level of post development 3 and the degree of post developed 0.64 is ranked 2nd after Indonesia.
