Aanalysis the Factors Affecting Domestic Tourism Demand in Ardabil Province

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the factors affecting domestic tourism demand in Ardabil province. The data used in this research was of across-sectional type and have been collected from domestic tourists visiting Ardabil. This date includes 384 domestic tourists households whose trips last one night or more in 2008ʹs summer. Te sample was selected by clustered random sampling method and data were collected by interviewing the households and filling out questionnaires by the interviewees. For estimating the touristsʹ demands, the Almost Ideal Demand System Regression was used. Distinct regressions for each of the five groups of commodities and services of food, accommodation, transportation, visit fees and souvenirs were estimated. The results show that different factors like the household properties, type of transportation, type of trip accommodation, type of residence in their homecities and the distance between their home and Ardabil affect expenditure and price elasticity.
