A Study of Efficiency of Housing Bank Branches Using Bootstrap Algorithm

The aim of this paper is to investigate the determinants of efficiency in Housing Bank (Bank Maskan) branches. To this end, data envelope analysis along with Tobit model was applied using data of 128 branches in Tehran during 2004. Since efficiency scores in data envelop analysis are correlated, bootstrap resampling method was applied to deal with this problem. The finding of the research showed that economic situation of the branches is significantly affect the efficiency, while other factors such as beneficiary, size and staff educational level have no significant effect on efficiency.
