Determination of Chloroform in Blood of Swimmers by Dispersive Liquid-Liquid Microextraction-Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry

In this work a novel microextraction method named dispersive liquid-liquidmicroextraction (DLLME) for determination of chloroform in pool water andblood of swimmers after swimming is described. It is based on coupling dispersiveliquid-liquid microextraction (DLLME) with GC-MS. In this method, methanoland trichloroethylene were used as the disperser solvent and the extraction solvents,respectively. The volumes of these solvents were optimized for pool water by centralcomposite design. Our study involves three indoor swimming pools and nine swimmers.Chloroform concentration of pool water was 118-135 ug 1-ʹ and of blood ranged from1.26 to 1.66 ug I-I.
