A survey about the impact of womenʹs education and their value orientation toward development

Social values have been central concept in social sciences. Individuals and groups differ in their values. Social values are crucial for explaining both social personal organizations and social changes. Values are applied to characterize societies and individuals, trace changes over time and explain motivational behavior and attitudes. In recent years, Iranian woman have acquire new social - economic status. The main research question is that, do womanʹs modern values differ across diverse status? Therefore, this research has striven to explain the effect of womenʹs social - economic status on their values orientation. This study has emphasized those values that sociologists predicted for the development societies. Modernization theory from Karl Marx to Daniel Bell have argued that economic development brings pervasive cultural changes ,But others from Max Weber to Samuel Huntington .have claimed that cultural values have enduring and autonomous influence on societies. This study is based on sociological and social psychology theories. The present investigation has been funded value types as follows: Globalism, Universalistic. Rationality, Trust, Life Satisfaction and scientism. Social Economic Status is measured by social, cultural and economic capital, following Bourdiou class theory. The research method is a survey on 504 women in Shiraz. The findings are gathered according to questionnaire and it s based on face construct validity and reliability. C ron bachʹs Alpha is applied to measure reliability and Alpha was above 0/70 for all oj scales .Factor analysis is applied to measure construct validity. Education has a positive impact on scientism and globalism values. The mean of rational and scientism values are more in the educated woman than the other ones. According to the findings, education is an independent variable that leads to mental motion and capacity toward development based on women value orientation.
