A survey on the impact of watching the satellite on life style

Nowadays the process of mass communication can be possible through medium. Therefore, media consider as a medium and can collect people together in symbolic space and create media audience. The programs of satellite influence on culture, life style and its formation. The theoretical framework is based on Giddens and Bourdieu in order to study related views. This is a survey research, which includes a sample of384 taken from students of Islamic Azad University, Science and Research branch in Tehran. Also, sampling method is multistage sample and the data is collected by the questionnaires and interviews. The findings show that there are significant relationships between the rate of watching the satellite and cultural and material life style. In addition, there are negative significant relationships between education, income and age with life style. It means that increasing of those variables leads to increasing of cultural life style. The analyzing of media behaviors declares that there is a positive relationship between selection of programs and cultural life style. Therefore, the increasing of different programs influences students ʹ tendency toward cultural life style.
