As war is cosidered an integral part of human life, so acquisition of superiority in weaponary, has always been applied as a practical mean of hegemony for a person, a group and a state against others. Upto the latter parts of twelfth century A.D., various societies and nations enjoyed a state of relatively weaponary balance. The emergence of gunpower in the final decade of medieval era which milestones the appearance of weapons with firing power, revolutionized the weapons used before. In the middle parts of twentieth century, the nuclear fusion, once again revolutionized military weapons and application of atomic bomb by Americans against the people of Japan caused a sound change and modification in offensive and defensive tactics and strategies. The side effects of application of such weapons created a permenant state of fear and panic for the nations of the world. It is reported recently that the coalition forces taking part in the Persian Gulf war of 1990 and also the Balkan war of 2000, have used depleted uranium (which is a low level radioactive heavy metal) against Iraqi and Yugoslav troops.
The article is trying to introduce depleted uranium and consider the side effects of application of nuclear weapon in wars and its impact on public thought.
