Israelʹs Strategy in the Middle East Rigion and its Impacts on the Islamic Republic of Iran

The Post - Cold War World developments, also has influenced the Middle East region as one of the important centres of International Politics. In this regard, the confrontation between Iranʹs political and security position and Israel have been more important and sensitive. The Collapse of Soviet bloc and the end of bipolar world system, coincided with American Hegemony, and Strengthening Israelʹs position in the region, which its most important consequences was the fall of Saddam Hosseinʹs regime as a threat to Americaʹs interests and Israelʹs security in the region. However, due to the uncertainty over the Middle East peace process and Israelʹs fear of some regional countries to obtain the weapons of mass destruction, Israel still regards the Middle East region as an insecure and threatening place. As a result, Israel defines her new strategy with in the concept of New Middle East, which also includes Islamic Republic of Iran. Iran, too, after the victory of Islamic Revolution, has changed the friendly strategic position of Pahlavi regimeʹs period with Israel into a hostile position. The new hostile position of Iran has increased Israelʹs sensitivity towards her security doctrine in two grounds: the peace process of the Middle East, and Iranʹs effort to obtain the weapons of mass destruction. This situation has led to the new arrangements over a new strategic balance in the region. The article examines the challenges and threats arising from the new security conditions which confronting Islamic Republic of Iran. So, the author of the article, with regard to the new developments in Arabs and Palestinians array before Israel, and the reality of the acceptance of Israelʹs existence and the desire to make peace with her on one hand, and the power of nuclear deterrence of Israel on the other hand, emphasizes on the opportunity before the Islamic Republic of Iran in regard to her national interests.
