One of the important sections of Supply Chain Management (SCM) in any manufacturing industry is the preparation of raw material The in-time purchase of raw material just at the required amount would cause the dormant capital to reach to the minimum volume. This factor itself can considerably reduce the final cost of productions. In this paper through the conduction of a case study the system of inventory control of the Mazandaran Wood and Paper Industry has been investigated. First by using a scientific model the amount of ordered raw material was calculated at each time. Then the cost of ordering and storing as well as the cost of the whole sock control system has been calculated too. At the next phase the confidence coefficient of the raw material supply chain system are studied that in respect to the investigations performed this coefficient was considerably increased. The sampling methods of items from the view of product number and other aspects are calculated through the subjective or judge method while the research method is of a field study one. The research plan is as following: First the highly consumed raw materials in 1387 have been specified which in this study it constitutes the statistical community. Then through ABC classification of 6 items of the raw materials constituting 94% of the store inventory value, were selected as a case study sample. After that through EOQ model the optimum values of the order were calculated. At the next step the secondary optimization based on the order cycle system was performed. The general outcome obtained shows that through the optimization process the total cost has reduced for 41% while the possibility of facing with material shortage has increased 15% as well. Also the ordering condition was changed from the existing system to that of an optimized one.
