Science Production in Iran - 2005

Using number of Iranian papers indexed in institute for scientific information (ISI), the contribution of Iran in science production has been investigated in 2005. In this year, the number of Iranian indexed papers is 5423 (0.42% of the world value) in science, 225 (0.13% of the world value) in social science, 11 (0.008% of the world value) in art and humanity sciences and 5578 (0.36% of the world value) in total. Without considering Turkey, Iran science production-rank is top one through all Moslem and neighbore countries. Chemistry has the first contribution by more than 30% and science production of medical science universities in Iran is equal to 28 percent in 2005.
