The EUROPEAN SCIENCE FOUNDATION (ESF)

The European Science Foundation (ESF), featuring 76 members from research councils, academies and scientific institutes of 29 European countries, was founded in 1974. The main objective of this foundation is assisting the promotion of science and technology in Europe. In a sense, ESF is a forum for organizing and mobilizing all the research capabilities in Europe by bringing eminent scientists and investing entrepreneurs together. This article briefly examines the goals, structure, scientific plans and practical policies of the European Science Foundation.
