The Growth of Scientific Productivity of Iranian Researchers in Medline

The Growth and Development of Scientific Productivity in Iran, was studied through in the ISI Science Citation Index (SCI) database. One of the findings showed a sharp increase in Iranian scientistsʹ productivity in recent years. In the present article, the growth and development of the scientific publications of Iranian researchers in the MEDLINE database have been studied from 1976 to 2003 (totally 2695 documents), using scientometric techniques, highly productive authors, universities and popular journals, as well as their place of publication are identified. Besides, the subject areas that are of more interest to Iranian physicians are investigated. The result of this study have been compared to and contrasted with our earlier findings to find out the similarities and differences in the performance of Iranian scientists and interdisciplinary Researchers in medical .
