Having defined the main factors of population growth rate, the transition stages has been described in developed and developing countries. One of this research hypothesis was the continues correlation between the population growth and demographic items of development. In Iran and its neighboring some negative and positive growth rate are confirmed through the historical and geographical research. This research process follows by some aimed questions for the study of the population growth. To analyze the research findings some population growth indices, the patterns of different statistical correlations between the population growth and other population indices are described. Negative population growth along with reduction in GNP per capita, has changed the duplication time of population in the historical and geographical scopes. The negative correlated population growth with life expectancy and optimum population growth are some of the other findings of this article. The conclusion followed by birth, death and population growth in the present world, the necessity of population growth reduction, including some other suggestions for optimum population growth as a key factor toward the sustainable development process.
