FROM MAAREF (KNOWLEDGE) ASSOCIATION TO IRANIAN ASSOCIATION FOR POPULARIZATION OF SCIENCE

This paper opens with an anecdote from the famous book, Chahar Maghal eh to show how innate love for science accompanied with generosity can bring scientists and scholars of a society together. When provided with the essential means of living, they start communicating and collaborating with each other and start developing science. The paper, then, introduces the Iranian Association of Academic Elites which gave impetus to school-building movement in the country. As a result, a sweeping flow of science and technology reached all the cities and even remote villages which is still going strong. The article then elaborates on scholars, organizations and institutes that promoted the Iranian society up to its status quo with their hard work. The closing part is dedicated to introducing the "Iranian Association for Popularization Science ", its objectives and responsibilities towards dissemination of knowledge, promotion of thought and scientific method of thinking, and encouraging people and groups to embark upon scientific activities.
