In vitro wear assessment of four brands of artificial teeth

چكيده مقدمه: مقاومت دندان‌هاي مصنوعي در برابر سايش، تاثير زيادي در دوام و طول عمر دست دندان دارد. هدف از اين پژوهش، ارزيابي و مقايسه ميزان سايش چهار نوع دندان مصنوعي در شرايط آزمايشگاهي بود. مواد و روش‌ها: در اين پژوهش تجربي– آزمايشگاهي، از 4 نوع دندان مصنوعي گلامور، اپل، ياقوت و ايوكلار استفاده شد. ده دندان مصنوعي پرمولر فك بالا از هر نوع دندان مصنوعي، در اكريل خود سخت شونده ثابت شدند و آزمون سايش به تعداد 1000 و 2000 چرخه انجام شد. ارتفاع دندان‌ها قبل و بعد از هر سري سايش توسط يك ميكروسكوپ نوري اندازه گيري شد. داده‌ها به وسيله آزمون آماري ANOVA و آزمون تكميلي Duncan آناليز گرديدند (05/0 = ?). يافته‌ها: آزمون آناليز واريانس تفاوت معني‌دار ميانگين سايش در 1000 و 2000 دور سايش بين چهار گروه دنداني را نشان داد (001/0p value < ). آزمون تكميلي Duncan در مقايسه دوبه دوي گروه‌ها، هم در 1000 دور و هم در 2000 دور، نشان داد كه به جز در مورد دندان‌هاي اپل و ياقوت، اختلاف ميانگين سايش بين همه گروه‌ها معني‌دار بود. نتيجه‌‌گيري: در اين بررسي مشخص شد كه دندان ايوكلار به طور معني‌داري كمترين سايش را نسبت به ساير دندان‌ها دارد و بعد از آن، كمترين سايش به ترتيب مربوط به دندان‌هاي گلامور، ياقوت و اپل بود. كليد واژه‌ها: دندان مصنوعي، آكريلي، دندان رزيني، رزين پايه، سايش، مقاومت سايشي.

Abstract Introduction: Wear resistance of artificial teeth has an important role in denture longevity. The purpose of this in vitro study was to evaluate wear resistance of four brands of artificial teeth. Materials and Methods: In this in vitro study four brands of artificial teeth, including Apple, Yaghoot, Glamour and Ivoclar were used. Ten maxillary first premolars were selected from each set and were fixed in autopolymerizing acrylic resin. Wear test was performed for 1000 and 2000 cycles. Heights of the teeth were measured under a light microscope before and after wear cycles. Data were analyzed by ANOVA and Duncan tests (? = 0.05). Results: ANOVA showed that mean wear rate of the teeth in both 1000 and 2000 cycles had significant differences (p value < 0.001). According to Duncan test, except for Apple and Yaghoot, other groups had significant differences with each other (p value2 = 0.314), (p value1 = 0.289). Conclusion: It was concluded from the results of the present study that wear rate of Ivoclar teeth was significantly lower than that in other groups. Glamour, Yaghoot and Apple teeth showed the highest rate of wear, respectively. Key words: Acrylic, Artificial teeth, Resin base, Resin tooth, Wear, Wear resistance.
