On the Generalized Statistical Models

Recently, the subject of classical generalized statistical models such as beta normal distribution, exponentiated Weibull distribution, generalized exponential distribu¬tion and so on have been discussed by several researchers. It has been shown that in some situations, the generalized models are more flexible than the fundamental distributions and perform better in goodness of fit problems. In this paper, first, we present a brief outline of the corresponding results, then we consider the case based on ordered data. We study the families of distributions arising from the distributions of order statistics. Next, we introduce a new generalized family of distributions based on the distributions of record statistics. We study the distributional properties of the introduced model and show that some properties of the parent distribution are preserved by the introduced family.
