Methodology of the Shiʹitelmamsʹ movements

Religion is the divine comprehensive theory on the administration of social systems and human life, offered to human beings by the divine prophets. The divine revelation was ceased and the line of prophets was sealed at a certain historical period, but manʹs need to divine teachings is permanent. Imamat is there to fulfill this need, to interpret Islam, to guard Islam and to present a criterion for understanding Islam. The Imamʹs function is to protect Islam against any distortion in any historical period, to fight any form of extremism and to fight deviant currents. The Imam does not allow any person to consider himself a criterion for shariʹah, to consider the Qurʹan as the criterion for interpreting shariʹah, and to fight the sects growing inside the religious societies, to hold scientific meetings to defend the principles of religion, to introduce devoted scholars and to reveal the court scholars so that there will be no deviation in the Muslim Ummah. These are some of the measures taken by the Imams in the course of their fruitful lives.
