The holy Imamsʹ method of educating the common and the elite

The purpose of this paper is to describe the holy Imamsʹ method of educating the common and the elite, showing their purpose of education and the constituents of their method of education. According to the writer, a method is a means to achieve an end, and an end, within the tradition of the Imams, is inspired by the Qurʹan. Thus, the educational method of the Imams has a Qurʹanic nature. The Qurʹan teaches reflection and meditation, not passive submission and constant worship. This is a method that can be used by everybody as it stimulates an inner activity, whereas the methods that depend on the educator rely on imperative teachings. Using this method, the Imams succeeded to educate people who kept Islam alive under very difficult conditions.
