Identification of Behavior Pattern and Fault Detection in Gas Turbines

Gas turbine performance deteriorates during its operational life. Among the most important causes of this deterioration is compressor fouling, extra tip clearance, blades erosion and corrosion, etc. These physical problems impacts gas turbine performance and hence change its performance characteristics. This paper aims to introduce a solution for detecting these sorts of faults using measurable parameters of gas turbine. In this method faults which occur in gas path of gas turbine including compressor, combustion chamber and turbine could be detected. The introduced method is one of the most extended methods in respect of types and extends of faults which could be detected.
