Standards for Energy Consumption and its Impact on Peak Load of Electrical Network

Nowadays, split gas coolers are applied significant and have effect dramatically on the annual peak . Standard of energy consumption and energy labeling for split gas cooler should be defined. By the way, the result of energy standard for cooling system is caused not only reducing of peak load but also decreasing electrical energy consumption. Split coolers include two parts, evaporative in air environment and set the compressor and condenser are placed in outer place. Split gas cooler are applied for air-conditioning system, cooling system in summer and heating system in winter. Maximum capacity of split coolers should be 4 tons of refrigeration and are imported mostly. Standard performance test gas cooler is developed according ISO 5151 and Iranian national standard is approved ISIRI 6016. Besides, performance test, energy labeling and minimum energy performance standard are approved for domestic production and imported gas cooler. This paper presents energy labeling and energy performance of gas cooler by experimental and theoretical method. Sixty samples were tested from diversity of models and relevant information was analyzed. Finally, the results of paper illustrate energy saving and peak shaving due to energy labeling for split gas cooler.
