Egyptian and Syrian refugees in Iran and their role in the relations among the Ilkhanids and Mamluks

With the establishment of the Ilkhanid Mongol government in Iran in the second half of the 7th A.H./13th A.D., this government began to make ties and relations with its neighbors, both mongol and non- mongol governments, especially Egypt in the Western borders of Iran. Regional conflicts among the Ilkhandis and Mamluks began to increase in years. In this regard, the refugees who ran away from Egypt and Syria and began to seek asylum with the Mongols increased the conflicts among these relations. The main object of the present study is to deal with the causes for the movements of these refugees and the relations between the Ilkhanids and Mamluks. This study uses a descriptive and analytic approach.
