Refining modeling of natural gas from acid gases by hydrate formation method

In this research, a new method for sweetening and removing of acid gas from natural gas specially biogas that contains high content of this impurity was investigated. Due to difference in molecular structure and solubility in water, hydrates of gases are formed in different conditions. For example in a constant temperature carbon dioxide has high solubility with respect to methane and forms hydrate in lower pressure. Here with thermodynamic modeling of hydrate formation, the optimum condition for acid gas hydrate formation and removing from natural gas was given. The results show that about 60 percent of carbon dioxide was removed from sour biogas in two equilibrium stages.
