Cultural ties between Iranians and Armenians, which started some 28 centuries ago, have linked Iranians and Armenians with deep cultural roots.
Armenia is an extension of the Iranian plateau. Based on Ferdowsiʹs ʹShahnamehʹ, the first land and birthplace of Iranians and Armenians was located between the Caspian Sea, Amu River and Aral Sea. Aryans of the world emerged from this land.
Both groups originated from the Aryan race and resided in territories currently named Iran and Armenia. The Armenian language has a profound and unbreakable link with the Persian language. Ancient Armenian names are authentic Achaemenid and Arsacides names. Iranians and Armenians practiced the same religion during the reign of Achaemenid and Arsacides dynasties.
Both communities have common festivities dating back to 2,700 years. At present, Armenians celebrate these festivities within the framework of Christianity. No community or nation is close to Iranians other than the Armenians. In this study, a brief account of extensive cultural ties between Iranians and Armenians is reviewed.
