Echocardiography: Evaluation of Nanocid Approval on Fractional Shortening and Ejection Fraction of Broiler Chickens Heart

This study has accomplished due to evaluate the effect of disinfectant "Nanocid" drug on fractional shortening, the most important left ventricle function, and hearts ejection fraction on 270 Rass broiler chicken using echocardiography. Chickens were divided into 6 groups and each group 3 repeats. Nanocid had been added in consumption water from 20 days old to 26 days old in 5 different doses: 1, 2, 3, 5 and 7 ml/L, and one group had assigned as control group., When the chickens became 26 days old, 3 chickens were selected from each repeat, randomly. Chicken echocardiograms have taken using a 10 MHz linear probe in sternal position of dorsal recumbent chickens in a less stress environment. Minimum percentage of fractional shortening and ejection fraction were in group 6. Differences were statisticaly significant between group 6 with groups 1, 2 and 3 (P<0.05). With note that both evaluated parameters have decreased, our results shows that approval of high dosage of Nanocid leads to decrease in myocardial contractility, heart failure to pompage enough blood to tissues and cardiovascular problems. According to these results, moderate dosage of Nanocid (2 and 3 ml/L) can be used for prevention of microbial infections with least effects on cardiovascular system.
