بررسي ارتباط مهارت آگاهي واجي و عملكرد رياضي در دانش‌آموزان پايه اول دبستان

The relationship between phonemic awareness and mathematical skills in first-grade students

چكيده مقدمه: يادگيري عددي يكي از اجزاي اساسي آموزش است و نقص در ادراك رياضي نه تنها عملكرد در مدرسه بلكه عملكرد زندگي روزمره را آسيب مي‌رساند. مطالعات تجربي كمي در زمينه فاكتورهاي شناختي موثر بر مهارت رياضي به ويژه در ميان كودكان دبستاني صورت گرفته است. بنابراين لازم است فاكتورهاي شناختي زيربنايي در رشد توانايي رياضي در جنبه‌هاي مختلف مورد بررسي قرار گيرد. از آن جايي كه در حل مسايل اين حوزه تحصيلي از پردازش صداهاي گفتاري استفاده مي‌شود، آگاهي واج‌شناختي مي‌تواند از جمله اين فاكتورها باشد. مواد و روش‌ها: اين مطالعه توصيفي- تحليلي و مقطعي بود. 70 دانش‌آموز پايه اول كه داراي هوش طبيعي بودند و سابقه مردودي در پايه اول و مشكلات شنوايي و زباني نداشتند، به صورت تصادفي انتخاب شدند و تحت آزمون آگاهي واجي و آزمون رياضيات ايران كي مت قرار گرفتند. پس از اجراي آزمون بر طبق دفترچه راهنما امتيازهاي آن‌ها در برگه‌هاي مربوطه ثبت شد. سپس اطلاعات حاصل با استفاده از نرم‌افزار SPSS مورد تجزيه و تحليل قرار گرفت. يافته‌ها: مهارت كل آگاهي واجي و كل عملكرد رياضي با يكديگر ارتباط داشتند (ضريب همبستگي 947/0) و همچنين بين نمره هر يك از خرده آزمون‌هاي مهارت آگاهي واجي و نمره هر يك از خرده آزمون‌هاي عملكرد رياضي در نمونه مورد بررسي ارتباط معني‌داري وجود داشت. بيشترين ارتباط مربوط به حذف واج مياني و شمارش با ضريب همبستگي 74/0 و كمترين ارتباط مربوط به تجزيه واجي و هندسه با ضريب همبستگي 42/0 بود. نتيجه‎گيري: نتايج پژوهش حاضر با ساير پژوهش‌هاي انجام شده همخواني دارد. ضريب همبستگي ميان دو متغير در پژوهش‌هاي انجام شده متفاوت است كه مي‌توان علت را به تفاوت در تعداد متغيرهاي مورد پژوهش، تقسيم‌بندي متفاوت از مهارت آگاهي واجي و عملكرد رياضي و آزمون‌هاي متفاوت استفاده شده در پژوهش‌ها نسبت داد. كليد واژه‌ها: عملكرد رياضي، آگاهي واجي، دانش‌آموز سال اول دبستان.

Abstract Introduction: Numerical learning is now considered as an essential educational component and any deficit in mathematical understanding strongly relates to impaired functioning, not just at school but also in everyday life. There is, however, a paucity of empirical studies about basic cognitive factors that can specifically influence the growth of mathematical skills in school-age children of early grades. So, the underlying cognitive factors that are associated with growth of math ability at different stages of one’s educational development have yet to be empirically determined. Phonological awareness may affect the development of mathematical skills since strategies of speech-sound processing are used to treat problems in this academic domain. Materials and Methods: This was a descriptive-analytic study in which 70 first graders with normal IQ were randomly chosen. There was no history of hearing and/or language disorders and failure in primary school among these subjects. All participants underwent a phonological awareness test and Iran key Math Mathematics Test. Obtained data were statistically analyzed with SPSS software. Results: There was a significant correlation between total score of phonemic awareness skill and that of mathematic skill (r = 0.97). Moreover, the scores of all phonemic awareness subtests significantly related to those of mathematic subtests. The strongest relationship were observed between counting and middle phoneme deleting (r = 74) and geometry and segmenting had the weakest relationship with each other (r = 0.42). Conclusion: The results of present study replicated those obtained through other researches. However, correlation coefficients of this study are different from those reported in other studies. This can be due to several factors among which difference in the count of variables, difference in the categorizing of phonological awareness and mathematical skills and using different test can be noted.
