ارزيابي ميزان آگاهي دندان‌پزشكان عمومي شهر از تجويز صحيح انواع راديوگرافي در سال 90-1389

Evaluation of dentists’ awareness of how to prescribe correct radiographs in Isfahan in 2010-2011

چكيده مقدمه: يكي از اركان اساسي در تشخيص صحيح نوع بيماري‌ها، راديوگرافي است. به موازات رشد روز افزون كاربردهاي تشخيصي اشعه X مسووليت حرفه‌اي ايجاب مي‌كند كه دندان‌پزشك اطلاعات كافي و صحيح و حداقل دوز دريافتي بيمار داشته باشد. هدف از اين پژوهش، بررسي ميزان آگاهي دندان‌پزشكان شهر اصفهان در زمينه تجويز صحيح انواع راديوگرافي در سال 90-1389 بود. مواد و روش‌ها: در اين مطالعه مقطعي از نوع توصيفي- تحليلي به 400 دندان‌پزشك عمومي شاغل در شهر اصفهان به طور تصادفي مراجعه شد و پرسش‌نامه طراحي شده شامل سه قسمت معرفي مشخصات راديوگرافي در قالب سوال سنجش آگاهي بين دندان‌پزشكان به طور حضوري تكميل و جمع‌آوري گرديد. سطح آگاهي دندان‌پزشكان در 25 زمينه مختلف از تجويز صحيح راديوگرافي ارزيابي شد و در هر يك از زمينه‌ها سطح آگاهي مقايسه گرديد. داده‌ها با استفاده از آزمون One Way ANOVA و Independent t-test آناليز شدند (05/0 > p value). يافته‌ها: از 400 دندان‌پزشك عمومي شهر اصفهان، 222 نفر (5/55 درصد) مرد و 178 نفر زن (5/44 درصد) بودند. تفاوت معني‌داري در ميانگين نمرات آگاهي دندان‌پزشكان به تفكيك جنسيت مشاهده نشد (904/0 = p value)، ميانگين نمره سطح آگاهي دندان‌پزشكان با سابقه كاري كمتر از 5 سال 58/2 ± 76/11 و ميانگين نمره دندان‌پزشكان با سابقه كاري بالاتر از 5 سال 74/2 ± 4/10 بود كه اين تفاوت معني‌دار بود (0001/0 > p value). نتيجه‌‌گيري: نتايج اين پژوهش نشان داد كه ميزان آگاهي دندان‌پزشكان شهر اصفهان در زمينه تجويز صحيح راديوگرافي كمتر از حد انتظار است. بنابراين راهكارهايي همچون آموزش مداوم و مستمر دندان‌پزشكان جهت آشنايي بيشتر آنان ضروري به نظر مي‌رسد. كليد واژه‌ها: دندان‌پزشكان، راديوگرافي، آگاهي.

Abstract Introduction: Radiography has an important role in the diagnosis of diseases. Professional responsibility necessitates that dental practitioners have adequate and sound knowledge about the techniques to minimize the patient dose. The aim of this study was to evaluate the awareness of dental practitioners in Isfahan about how to prescribe correct radiographs in 2010-2011. Materials and Methods: In this descriptive/cross-sectional study data was collected by distributing questionnaires among 400 dental practitioners in Isfahan. The questionnaire consisted of three parts, including a description of various radiographic techniques in the form of awareness questions. Awareness of dental practitioners was evaluated in 25 different fields, including correct prescription of radiographs. Data was analyzed and compared between the fields under study by one-way ANOVA and independent t-test (p value < 0.05). Results: Of the 400 dental practitioners taking part in the study, 222 (55.5%) were males and 178 (44.5%) were females, with no statistically significant differences in awareness between them (p value = 0.094). The mean awareness grades of dental practitioners with job experiences less than 5 years and more than 5 years were 11.76 ± 2.58 and 10.4 ± 2.74, respectively, with statistically significant differences (p value > 0.001). Conclusion: The results of this study showed that the awareness of dental practitioners in Isfahan about correct radiographic techniques is less than the acceptable level. Therefore, it is necessary to increase their knowledge and awareness by continuous education programs. Key words: Awareness, Dental practitioners, Radiography.
