خاقاني شخصيتي?بزرگ و دانشمندي داراي ذوق و قريحه سرشار بود. او خود به بزرگي خويش واقف بود، و در اشعارش بارها به ‏آن اشاره كرده است؛ اگر چه اين تمايل به ستايش خويشتن در اشعار شاعران بزرگ ديگر، چون سعدي، حافظ و... نيز ديده مي شود؛ اما ‏خاقاني در اين راه پاي فراتر نهاده است. شايد داشتن چنين توانمندي هايي موجب شده كه شخصيت او به گونه اي شكل گيرد كه ‏ديگران را به هيچ شمارد، خود را بي بديل و نظير بپندارد، ارتباطات شكننده اي با ديگران داشته باشد و عنصر تفاخر جز ويژگي هاي ‏سبكي وي به شمارآيد. ويژگي هايي كه از نظر دانش روانشناسي، ويژگي هاي يك فرد «خودشيفته» قلمداد مي شود. خاقاني انساني ‏كمال گرا و جاه طلب نيز بوده است، كسي كه مي‌خواست همه‌چيز مطابق آرمان هاي او باشد، و البته بايد گفت، همين كمال گرايي نيز ‏يكي از خصوصيات افراد خودشيفته است. ‏ در اين مقاله پس از مراجعه به منابع و كتاب هاي روانشناسي و استخراج ويژگي هاي خودشيفتگي، آثار افضل الدين بديل خاقاني ‏با آن ها سنجيده شده، و ويژگي هاي شخصيتي وي كه برجسته ترين آن ها خودشيفتگي است، تحليل و بررسي گرديده است. ‏

One of the greatest lyrist of Persian literature is Khaqani of Shirvan. His word is Strong, wise and meaningful. His master in different Scinces like medicine, astrology, music, different games and specially the holy Koran and the narrations and also his knowledge on christionity dictates that his words need interpretation and explanation. Khaqani has a special status in Persian literature for his poetic picturizing and imagination. There are few poets having not benefiting from his talent in imagination since the sixth century. Hafiz who is at the apex of eloquence has benefited from his artistic Talent a lot. He confessed to his importance and used it in his poems repeatedly. Altho this narcisism is also seen in the works of other poots like Sa.di, Hafiz, etc, he has gone beyond the limit. Perhaps for having such a capacity he may not attach importance to the others and considers himself unrival. He had a feeble relation ship with the others and the element of pride is one of the characteristics of his style. Khaqani was a perfectionist and ambitious. He liked every thing to be to his desires. This perfectionism is a character of narcists. In this article, the works of Khaqani have been compared with the characters of naecists a they are discussed in different psychological books to arrive at Khanis psychological traits among which narcisim is the most out standing.
