The Narrative Structure of Kalile va Demne Based on the Interaction Between the Legislator and the Clergyman (Rāy and Brahman)

كليله و دمنه ازجمله آثار ادبي- سياسي است كه محققان عمدتاً براي اثبات جنبه سياسي داستان ها و تعيين نوع انديشه سياسي يا نوع روابط قدرت در آنها، به محتواي داستان ها پرداخته و از تامل در ساختار حكايات بازمانده اند؛ درحالي‌كه مشهودترين دلالت براي درك موارد مذكور، ساختار اين داستان‌هاست كه با تعامل گفت‌و‌شنودي دو كارگزار روايي، يعني راي و برهمن، به‌مثابه پيوند دولت و دين، در تمام حكايات تداوم مي يابد. اين تحقيق با تاكيد بر دلالت هاي زباني روايي متن، درصدد بررسي روابط قدرت ميان راي و برهمن و نيز تعيين ميزان همخواني داستان‌ها با الگوي پيوند دولت و دين است. به همين منظور تعامل آن دو از منظر دو الگوي گفتمان‌كاوي با نام هاي «حق نوبت گيري» و «اصل پرسشگري»، در كليله و دمنه ترجمه نصرالله منشي بررسي شده‌است و نتيجه نشان مي دهد كه غرض از تعامل گفت‌وشنودي «راي» با «برهمن»، علاوه‌بر تاكيد بر پيوند دولت و دين، كسب مشروعيت براي راي است.

Kalile va Demne is among the political literary works whose content has been the matter of concern for researchers who tried to prove its political aspect or determine the power relations in it. Nevertheless, this is the structure of the story that is essentially responsible for the political aspect of the work. In Kalile va Demne, this aspect is actualised through the interaction of two narrative agents, i.e., R?y and Brahman, as the representatives of the relation between State and Religion. The present article focuses on the linguistic and the narrative significations of this text to study the power relations between R?y and Brahman and to see how far this structure manifests the State/Religion pattern. This interaction is examined based on “Turn taking” and “Questioning” principles, as the two discursive patterns. The findings say that the final goal of the interaction between R?y and Brahman, apart from emphasizing the connection between State and Religion, is to show that the activity of R?y is lawful and justified.
