The Character of an Islamic City: With an Emphasize on Physical Dimensions of an Islamic City

با توجّه به تفاسير متفاوتي كه در مورد «شهر و شهرسازي اسلامي» ارايه ميشود، شناسايي شخصيّت شهر اسلامي مي?تواند در تحليل شهرسازي اسلامي موثّر واقع شود. مفهوم شهر اسلامي كه شرقشناسان به كار برده?اند، مبتني بر اين فرض است كه اسلام يك نظام ارزشي كامل است و تمام الگوها و رفتار سازمان اجتماعي را تعيين مي?كند. در اين مقاله سعي شده است با تكيه بر روش توصيفي ـ تحليلي و از شيوه?هاي تحقيق مرور متون، منابع و اسناد تصويري به تحليل شخصيّت شهر اسلامي پرداخته شود. به همين جهت، با تبيين ويژگي?هايي كه براي شناخت و تعريف هر پديده لازم است، مقاله حاضر بر آن خواهد بود تا اين ويژگي?ها را براي شهر اسلامي استنتاج نمايد و با تبيين پيدايش و توسعه شهر اسلامي و عوامل موثّر در شكل?گيري آن، بنياد و ماهيّت كالبد شهري را بررسي كند. در اين باره به مولّفه?هاي كالبدي (اجزاي ثابت) شهر اسلامي اشاره شده است. علاوه بر بررسي ساختار كالبدي، نحوه مواجهه با اشكال و مدل?هاي شهر اسلامي كه در تحليل شخصيّت شهر اسلامي از اهميّت و منزلت خاصي برخوردار است، مورد توجّه قرار گرفته است. در ادامه، تاثير اسلام بر شيوه زيست و هويّت ساكنان شهر با در نظرگرفتن كليّه جوانب زيست شهري، بررسي شده است. نتيجه اين مقاله گوياي آن است كه اصطلاح شهر اسلامي، بيانگر هويّت ويژه فرهنگي، اجتماعي و تاريخي خاص ساكنان آن است. فضاي كالبديِ بيشتر شهرهاي اسلامي متاثّر از ويژگي?هاي سرزميني و جغرافيايي آن است كه وجود روح مشترك و منتج از مكتب الهي را در آنها تاييد ميكند. تداوم سير تاريخي و اصيلِ اوليّه، راهبردي است كه ميتواند در تبلور مجدّد مفاهيمي همانند مفهوم شهر اسلامي راهگشا باشد.

Considering different interpretation of an Islamic city and urban development , the study of the character of an Islamic city can be effective in analyzing Islamic urban development. The concept of Islamic city which has been used by orientalists is based on this assumption that Islam is a comprehensive value system and determines all models and behaviors of a social organization. Relying on descriptive-analytical method , reviewing texts , sources and illustrated documents ,this article is an attempt to study the character of an Islamic city. Explaining the features which are necessary to understand any phenomenon, the present article tries to deduct the characteristics of an Islamic city . Elaborating the establishment and development of an Islamic city and factors affecting on its formation , the article studies the urban physical nature. In line with this ideal , the physical components ( fixed components) of Islamic cities have been reviewed. In addition to the study of physical structure, the method of forms and shapes of Islamic cities have been noticed which are of importance in analyzing the character of Islamic cities. Furthermore, talking into consideration all urban living aspects, the impact of Islam on the way of life and identity of the inhabitants of city has been studied. The results of this article indicates that the term of Islamic city indicates the specific cultural, social and historical identity of its inhabitants. The physical space of most of Islamic cities are under the influence of its territorial and geographical features which confirm a common spirit resulting from a divine schools of thought. The continuation of historical and primary course is a strategy which can help with the re-flourishing state of concepts such as the concept of Islamic city.
