بررسي و نقد مدخل عليٌّ الرضا"ع" در دايره‌المعارف اسلام (Encyclopedia of Islam)

Critical Review of the Entry ‘Alī al-Riḍā in the Encyclopedia of Islam

ناآشنايي كامل برخي نويسندگان دايره‌المعارف اسلام با تاريخ تشيع و كلام اسلامي، سبب ضعف‌ مدخل‌هاي مرتبط با تشيع اثني‌عشري در اين دايره‌‌المعارف گرديده است. مدخل «عليٌّ‌الرضا» از جمله مدخل‌هايي است كه به دليل تكيه بيش از حد نويسنده بر منابع اهل سنت، از ضعف يكسونگري در معرفي آن حضرت برخوردار است و موجب شده تا نقص منابع غيرشيعي در گزارش فعاليت‌هاي اجتماعي‌سياسي امام رضا"ع" در اين مدخل نيز رسوخ كرده و بيش از بيان زندگي ايشان، به فعاليت‌هاي مامون بپردازد. از آنجا كه اين دايره‌المعارف به‌عنوان يكي از منابع اصلي در معرفي اسلام مطرح است، نقد و بررسي مدخل‌هاي آن، به رفع نواقص، اصلاح اشتباهات و ارتقاي سطح اطلاعات در زمينه تاريخ تشيع كمك شاياني مي‌كند. اين نوشتار در راستاي اهداف يادشده، به روش تحليلي تاريخي، چهار بخش ولادت و وفات، فعاليت‌ها، ولايتعهدي و منابع اين مدخل را نقد و بررسي كرده است.

Insufficient familiarity of some authors of the Encyclopedia of Islam with the history of Sh?‘ism and Islamic theology (kal?m) has caused the weakness of entries related to the Twelver Sh?‘ism in the Encyclopedia of Islam. ‘Al? al-Ri?? is among the entries that due to the author’s over-reliance on the Sunn? sources suffers weakness of one-sidedness in introducing his holiness and has resulted in the infiltration of deficient non-Sh?‘? sources into the reports on Imam al-Ri??’s (A.S.) socio-political activities in this entry, leading to dealing more with the Ma’m?n’s activities than addressing the Imam’s biography. As this encyclopedia is known to be one of the major sources in introducing Islam, critical review of its entries would make great contribution to the removal of deficiencies, correction of mistakes, and upgrading the level of information on the history of Sh?‘ism. In line with the above objectives and with a historico-analytical method, the present article has critically reviewed this entry in its four sections of birth and demise, activities, heir apparency, and the sources (bibliography).
