در شروع هزاره سوم، فناوري اطلاعات به عنوان عمده ترين تحول و توسعه در جهان مطرح شده است و دستاوردهاي ناشي از آن نيز به گونه اي با زندگي و كسب و كار مردم عجين شده است و كاربردهاي متنوع فناوري اطلاعات و سيستم هاي اطلاعاتي در حوزه هاي مختلف كسب وكار، بر كسي پوشيده نيست. امروزه ميزان حضور و به كارگيري اين فناوري در كشورها به عنوان معيار سنجش توان علمي و قدرت كشورها براي توليد، توزيع و استفاده از دانش ارزيابي مي شود. بي ترديد در حوزه دفاعي، مديريت بهينه لجستيك يكي از حياتي ترين فعاليت هاي اين بخش محسوب مي شود و به كارگيري قابليت هاي فناوري اطلاعات در كاركردهاي مختلف لجستيكي از قبيل حمل و نقل، انبارداري، نگهداري و تعميرات، كنترل موجودي، مديريت سفارشات، خريد، منابع انساني، مديريت مالي و غيره از اهميت ويژه اي برخوردار است. حجم سيستم ها و ابعاد پيچيدگي آنها هر روز در حال گسترش است و براي تصميم‌گيري و هدايت صحيح امور، ارزش و اهميت سيستم هاي اطلاعاتي و ارتباطي توانمند، بيش از پيش روشن‌تر مي‌گردد. تاكيد اصلي اين مقاله روي نقش برجسته سيستم هاي اطلاعاتي يكپارچه با محوريت سيستم هاي برنامه ريزي منابع سازماني (ERP)2 و ساير فناوري هاي مرتبط است تا بستر مناسب براي دگرگوني و توسعه سازمان ها در حوزه فعاليت هاي لجستيكي فراهم گردد.

Today, the amount of existence and using this technology in countries has been assessed as a standard for measuring countries’ scientific ability and power to produce, distribute and made use of knowledge. Undoubtedly, in defense area, logistics best management is considered as one of the most vital activities in this field and utilizing capabilities of Information Technology in various application of logistics such as transportation, warehousing, maintenance, inventory control, orders management, purchasing, human resources, financial management, etc. is specially important. system volumes and their complexity dimensions are developing every day, and value and importance of powerful Information and communication systems are increasingly clearing to decide and direct affairs accurately. The main emphasis of this article is on the prominent role of integrated Information systems pivoted on Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) systems and other related technologies to bring suitable ground for transforming and developing organizations in the area of logistics activities.
