The Factors Affecting Students’ Attitudes toward Learning via Cellular Phone: A Study on Students of Isfahan University of Medical Sciences Using Technology Acceptance Model

زمينه و هدف: يادگيري از طريق تلفن همراه به عنوان مرحله جديدي از توسعه يادگيري الكترونيكي، در پي ارايه فرصت‌هايي جهت انتقال اطلاعات، تقويت و بهبود يادگيري در دانشجويان مي‌باشد، از اين رو، اين مطالعه با هدف بررسي عوامل نگرشي موثر در پذيرش يادگيري از طريق تلفن همراه توسط دانشجويان علوم پزشكي پرداخته است. روش‌ كار: اين پژوهش از نوع توصيفي، همبستگي است. جامعه پژوهش را كليه دانشجويان علوم پزشكي اصفهان تشكيل دادند، كه براي نمونه تعداد 214 نفر از دانشجويان رشته‌هاي مختلف علوم پزشكي بر اساس شيوه نمونه‌گيري تصادفي طبقه‌اي، متناسب با حجم نمونه انتخاب شدند. ابزار گردآوري اطلاعات پرسش‌نامه بود كه پرسش‌هاي آن، بر اساس سازه‌ها و عوامل تشكيل دهنده مدل پذيرش فناوري Davis و همكاران، تنظيم شد. روايي پرسش‌نامه با روش اعتبار محتوا و پايايي آن با روش Cronbach’s alpha تعيين شد. يافته‌ها: متغيرهاي برداشت ذهني از آساني استفاده، برداشت ذهني از مفيد بودن، نگرش دانشجويان نسبت به استفاده و تصميم به استفاده به عنوان عوامل نگرشي موثر، داراي اثرات مثبت بر پذيرش و استفاده از تلفن همراه جهت يادگيري در سطح 01/0 در ميان دانشجويان است. نتيجه‌گيري: بر اساس تجزيه و تحليل داده‌ها، مدل پذيرش يادگيري از طريق تلفن همراه در جامعه مورد مطالعه تاييد و بر همين اساس قابليت به كارگيري در جامعه مورد نظر را دارا است.

Background & Objective: Learning via mobile, as a new stage of electronic learning development, has been introduced to provide opportunities for transferring information and improving students learning. The present study was carried out to investigate the factors affecting the attitudes of Medical Students toward the acceptance of cellular phone as one of the educational means. Methods: In this descriptive correlation research, the study population was all the medical students in Isfahan University of Medical Sciences, Isfahan, Iran. Study samples were 214 students selected through clustered random sampling according to the sample size. Data collection was performed using a questionnaire designed based on forming constructs and factors of Davis et al., (1989) acceptance model. The questionnaire’s validity and reliability were determined through content validity and Cronbachʹs alpha respectively. Results: Variables including the perception of easy usage of e-learning, the perception of the helpfulness of e-learning, students’ attitudes toward e-learning and the decision to use it were found to be the factors which positively affect the acceptance and use of this technology among the students at the level of 0.01. Conclusion: Based on on findings, the technology acceptance model of learning via cellular phone was approved in the studied population; so that, it is applicable to the under-study population.
