A Comparative Study on Luciano Floridi and Rafael Capurro’s Informatological Thoughts

اطلاع‌شناسي، ناظر به پرسش از ماهيت اطلاعات است. لوچيانو فلوريدي و رافايل كاپورو از جمله فلاسفه‌اي‌اند كه به اين پرسش اهتمام داشته‌اند. فلوريدي پاسخ به اين پرسش را در قالب فلسفه‌ي اطلاعات پي مي‌گيرد. فلوريدي اطلاعات را داده‌هاي داراي نظمِ معني‌دارِ صادق مي‌داند. در نظر او، ما داده‌ي نابِ في نفسه نداريم و لذا اطلاعات همواره وابسته به يك سطح انتزاعِ خاص است. در مقابل، كاپورو مي‌كوشد در چارچوب هرمنوتيكِ اگزيستانسيال هايدگر به پرسش از چيستي اطلاعات پاسخ دهد. در نظر او، اطلاع وجهي از اگزيستانس دازاين است كه به وجود- در- عالَم- با- ديگران راجع است. لذاست كه كاپورو بر جنبه‌ي هرمنوتيكي- بلاغي دانش اطلاع‌رساني يا انجلتيك تاكيد مي‌كند. ايده‌ي اساسي مشترك در آرا فلوريدي و كاپورو اين است كه اطلاعات همواره داراي تعهدات و جهت‌گيري‌هاي انتولوژيك و مشروط به يك افق معاني خاص است. بر اين اساس دلالت هاي آرا فلوريدي و كاپورو در كتابداري و اطلاع‌رساني مورد بحث قرار مي‌گيرد.

The focal question in informatology is that of the nature of information. Luciano Floridi and Rafael Capurro are two philosophers that try to answer to the question “What is Information?”. Floridi traces the question in the framework of philosophy of information. Floridi suggests that information is “true well-formed meaningfull data”. According to Floridi, we haven’t such thing as pure data in itself. Information is always restricted to a certain level of abstraction. On the other hand, Capurro tries to answer to the question with regard to Heidegger’s existential hermeneutics. According to Capurro, information is a dimension of human existence that roots in Dasein’s “being-in-the-world-with-others”. Capurro says that information is dependent to the horizons of meanings in which Dasein is embedded. With regard to this existential analysis, Capurro emphasizes on hermeneutic-rhetoric character of information science; Angeletics in his own terms. A very important idea that Floridi and Capurro agree on it, is that information is always ontologically committed, i.e. it is always restricted to a certain horizon of meanings. Finally the implications of Floridi and Capurroʹs thoughts are discussed with regard to LIS.
