ديويدسن و اصل چريتي به مثابه شرط امكان تفسير

Davidson on principle of charity as the condition of possibility of interpretation

ديويدسن در كوشش خود در تحقيق در باب چگونگي شكل گيري فهم، مفاهمه و تفسير به اصلي موسوم به «اصل چريتي» توسل مي‌جويد و از آن استفاده گسترده‌اي در فلسفه خود مي‌كنند. اين اصل كه خود در واقع مجموعه‌اي از اصول مختلف و به‌هم‌پيوسته است بر سه مبناي انسجام، تطابق و توافق استوار است. در اين مقاله با بررسي كاركرد و جايگاه و وجوه مختلف اين اصل در فلسفه ديويدسن نشان داده مي‌شود كه وي اين اصل را به واقع مجموعه شروط ضروري براي امكان هر گونه فهم و تفسير مي‌داند.

In his attempt to investigate how communication, understanding and interpretation develop, Donald Davidson appeals to the so-called “principle of charity” and uses it across the board. This principle in fact is a set of different and interrelated principles and consists in three bases: consistency, correspondence and agreement. In this paper, reviewing function, position and different aspects of this principle in philosophy of Donald Davidson, I will try to show that he takes this principle as the set of necessary conditions for possibility of understanding and interpretation
