نقش و كاركردهاي تجار در بيرجند سده سيزدهم و چهاردهم هجري زهرا عليزاده بيرجندي الهام تاجريزي چكيـده در مطالعات تاريخ اجتماعي بيرجند، طبقه تجار به سبب تاثيرگذاري در حيات اجتماعي و اقتصادي جامعه و نقش آفريني در روند تحولات اجتماعي، درخور نگرش و بررسي مي باشند. تجار به عنوان يك طبقه اجتماعي و به لحاظ تعاملات و روابطي كه با ساير طبقات اجتماعي از جمله روحانيون و دولتمردان حكومتي داشته اند، از نفوذ اجتماعي و تنوع كاركردي برخوردار بوده اند. برخورداري از سرمايه نيز معيار مهمي در كسب اعتبار طبقه ي تجار ايفا كرده است و اين عامل نيز در مطرح شدن تجار به عنوان يك طبقه منتفذ و تاثيرگذار حايز اهميت بوده است. در مقاله ي حاضر به منظور بررسي نقش و كاركردهاي تجار، ابتدا چشم اندازي از اوضاع تجاري بيرجند درسده ي سيزده و چهارده هجري، ترسيم شده است. در اين چشم انداز، اقلام تجاري، راهها، شهرها و كشورهاي طرف تجارت و ساير عوامل تاثيرگذار در تجارت منطقه مورد بحث قرار گرفته است. در ادامه ضمن بيان مهم ترين ويژگي هاي طبقه تجار، به كاركردهاي اقتصادي و غيراقتصادي آنها پرداخته شده است. واژگان كليدي: تجار، بيرجند، قاينات.

The roles and functions of merchants in Birjand during the 13th and 14th centuries (H) Alizadeh Birjandi, Zahra Tajreezi, Elham Abstract: The merchant class, because of their effect on social and economical life of the society and their role in the process of social development, are worth studying and consideration. Merchants, as a social class and because of their interaction and relationship with other social classes including religious preachers and government officials, have had social influence and a variety of functions. Having a capital, too, has been a significant measure for the credit of this class. This factor has been important in presenting merchants as an influential class. In the present paper, first an outlook of the trade situation of 13th and 14th hejri centuries of Birjand has been drawn to study the role and function of merchants. In this outlook merchandise pieces, roads, cities, trade exchanging countries, and other effective factors on the trade of the region have been discussed. Following this, while mentioning the most important characteristics of the merchant class, their economical and non-economical functions have been taken into account.
