Sociological thinking of Geoffrey Alexander

دراين مقاله با اشاره‌اي مختصر به زندگي و آثار جفري الكساندر ، به بيان شالوده‌هاي نظري و زمينه‌هاي تفكراتي وي، هستي‌شناسي و انسان‌شناسي فلسفي، معرفت شناسي و روش شناسي اين جامعه‌شناس آمريكايي پرداخته شده است. سپس اصول عمده‌اي كه در نظريه جامعه‌شناختي او وجود دارد و برگرفته از حوزه‌هاي مطالعاتي وي از جمله الگوي تلفيقي و نظريه چندبعدي، نوكاركردگرايي، جامعه‌شناسي فرهنگي و جامعه مدني است، مورد بحث قرار گرفته است. در پايان انتقاداتي كه جامعه‌شناسان ديگر به نظريه الكساندر وارد ساخته‌اند، مطرح شده و به نتيجه‌گيري از مطالب مقاله پرداخته شده است.

In this brief article to the life and works of Jeffrey Alexander, the theoretical foundation and background of his thinking, ontology and philosophical anthropology, epistemology and methodology of this American sociologist has been considered. Then, the major principles in his sociological theory which has been drawn from his studies in areas such as model of integrative and multidimensional theory, neofunctionalism, sociology, cultural and civil society has been discussed. At the end, the criticism of other sociologists to Alexanderʹs theory has been posed and the conclusions of the article were discussed.
