مطالعه تطبيقي مفهوم روش شناسي و نظريه از منظر پژوهش هاي كمّي و كيفي با تاكيد بر نظريه پردازي در معماري

A Comparative Study of Methodology and Theory from the Perpectives of Quantitative and Qualitative Researches Focusing on Theorization in Architecture

صاحب نظران براين باورند انديشمنداني كه مي خواهند نظريه پردازي كنند، بايد از دو نوع دانش تخصصي برخوردار باشند؛ دانش، نسبت به پديده اي كه برآنند تا در مورد آن تيوري سازي كنند و دانش، نسبت به روش شناسي هاي نظريه پردازي. تدوين اسلوب پژوهش هم خود، شاخه اي جداگانه از علم است كه تحت عنوان روش شناسي شناخته مي شود. روش شناسي، دانشي متمركز بر فرايندها و ابزارهاي به كارگرفته شده در نظام دانش اندوزي و روند به كارگيري آنها است. اين دانش را مي توان ترجمه اصول يك پارادايم به زبان روش تحقيق بيان كرد. براين اساس، دو رويكرد اصلي روش شناسانه، موسوم به روش شناسي كمّي و كيفي از همديگر قابل تشخيص هستند. ازطرفي، نظريه در مبنايي ترين شكل آن، يك الگو است. نظريه از هنگامي تكوين يافت كه بشر در برخورد با واقعيت ها، به جاي افسانه پردازي به تعقل پرداخت و به كشف روابط علّي ميان پديده ها اهتمام ورزيد. نظريه درعين حال جمع بندي گذشته، جان بخشيدن به حال و شفاف سازي آينده است. در دنياي امروز، هر رشته علمي به تعريفي مناسب از نظريه نيازمنداست. رشته معماري نيز از اين قاعده جدانيست. معماران و طراحان، در مراتب حوزه هاي گوناگون با نظريه در ارتباط هستند. اما به وسيله نظريه حوزه تمايز در حوزه هاي معماري با ساير رشته هاي علمي به روشني مشخص نشده است. چرا كه به كارگيري نظريه در حوزه معماري، مستلزم شناخت دقيق و ريشه اي نظريه و توجه به ويژگي ها و ضرورت هاي آن است. بنابر آنچه گفته شد، تلاش نگارنده در اين مقاله برآن بوده تا با بررسي تطبيقي– تحليلي موضوع ياد شده و مطالعه كتاب ها، مقاله ها و منابع معتبر در حوزه روش شناسي و نظريه پردازي، دو مفهوم كليدي روش و نظريه را در پژوهش هاي كاربردي بررسي كند و معاني و رويكردهاي متفاوت اين دو مفهوم را از دو منظر كمّي و كيفي بيان كند. همچنين، ويژگي هاي نظريه معماري را هم ارزيابي كند تا از اين طريق، بهتر بتوان به ويژگي هاي نظريه در رشته معماري پي برد.

Scholars believe that those who want to theorize should possess two types of specialized knowledge: knowledge of a phenomenon about which they want to theorize and knowledge of methodologies of theorization. Codifying the method of research is a separate branch of science which is called methodology. Methodology is a knowledge which focuses on processes and tools applied in the system of knowledge accumulation and the procedures of applying it. This knowledge can be considered as the translation of a paradigm’s principles into the language of research methodology. Accordingly, two main approaches to methodology, that are quantitative and qualitative, can be distinguished. On the other hand, theory, in its most fundamental form, is a kind of model. Theory was created when man used logic instead of myth in confrontation with realities and tried to discover cause and effect relations between phenomena. Moreover, theory summarizes the past, animates the present and elucidates the future. Nowadays, each scientific discipline needs an appropriate definition of theory and the field of architecture is not an exception. Architects and designers face with theory in different fields but, comparing with other disciplines, the scope and borders of theory in architecture are not very clear. The application of theory in architecture requires an exact and deep knowledge of theory and paying attention to its characteristics. By a comparative-analytical investigation of the subject and studying the books, articles and authentic sources in the fields of methodology and theorization, this article aims to explore two key concepts of method and theory in applied researches and elucidate various meanings of the two concepts from quantitative and qualitative perspectives. Furthermore, it investigates the characteristics of architecture theory in order that the features of theory in architecture are understood better.
