Some Reflection on the Youth Subculture: A Study of the Subculture of Exhibitionist Car Driving

در سال هاي اخير خرده فرهنگ «ماشين راني نمايشي» در شهر هاي بزرگ كشورمان نظر هر كنجكاوِ موضوعات اجتماعي و فرهنگي را به خود جلب مي‌كند. اين گونه پديده‌ها در تعامل با روند هاي كلي اجتماعي شكل گرفته و روشن است كه بررسي آنها مي‌تواند به شناخت بيشتري از اين جريانات و روند‌ها منجر شود. در اين مقاله تلاش بر آن است تا نشان داده شود كه چه زمينه هايي موجب شكل گيري خرده فرهنگ ماشين راني نمايشي در بين جوانان شده است؟ در واقع شناخت معاني آشكار و لايه هاي پنهان نهفته در اين خرده فرهنگ، نقطه عزيمت اين مقاله خواهد بود. از اين رو ضمن مروري بر فضاي مفهومي موضوع و نظريه هاي مرتبط با آن، ديدگاه هاي هبدايج از مكتب بيرمنگام براي استخراج ايده هايي مورد توجه قرار گرفته است. اين مطالعه به روش كيفي انجام شده و داده هاي آن حاصل مصاحبه با 18 نفر از جوانان شهر رشت بوده است. اين افراد به شيوه نمونه گيري گلوله برفي انتخاب شده اند. نتايج مطالعه حاكي از آن است كه خرده فرهنگ ماشين راني نمايشي در بين جوانان درحال شكل گيري است و مهم تر اينكه در پس خرده فرهنگِ ماشين بازي، فرايند هويت يابي، ابراز وجود در برابر ديگران و جلب توجه جنس مخالف، به چشم مي‌خورد و همچنين اثر مسايلي نظير كمبود زيرساخت هاي فرهنگي و فضا هاي تفريحي بر گرايش به سمت اتومبيل نيز مشهود است.

Over the past few years, the subculture of exhibitionist car driving has attracted the attention of any social and cultural researchers in our country. These phenomena have been formed in interaction with general social trends. Therefore, the study of these phenomena would facilitate a better understanding of these trends and currents. The present paper is an attempt to study the grounds that cause formation of subculture of exhibitionist car driving among the youth. In fact, understanding of the latent and open layers of this subculture is the first attempt of this study. Hence, while reviewing the conceptual framework of the subject and related theories, the viewpoints of Hebdige of Birmingham School have been used for the extraction of some ideas. The research method employed was qualitative and the data were collected through interview with 18 youth of the city of Rasht. They were selected through snowball sampling method. The findings of the study indicate that the subculture of exhibitionist car driving is being formed among the youth of the city. More importantly, this subculture is a process of identification, exhibition vis-à-vis others, attraction of the attention of opposite sex and also a compensation for shortcomings in the field of cultural infrastructures and entertainment environments.
