چكيده خطوط تلگراف يكي از مهم ترين و سريع ترين وسايل ارتباط همگاني در دوره قاجار بود. با تاسيس تلگراف خانه در نقاط مختلف دور و نزديك، اخبار و گزارش ها سريع تر مبادله شد و تصميم گيري ها و واكنش ها سريع انجام گرفت. خط تلگراف در شرق ايران ابتدا در سال 1293ق. به مشهد رسيد و سپس شاخه هاي فرعي آن به سرخس، سيستان و درگز كشيده شد و نقاط مرزي و دورافتاده را به مراكز قدرت متصل كرد. يكي از مهم ترين خطوط تلگراف شرق ايران خط مشهد- سيستان بود كه در سال 1320ق. تاسيس شد. ايجاد خط تلگراف از مشهد به سيستان به خاطر دوري مسافت و شرايط اقليمي، مشكلات زيادي داشت. تفاوت نگرش روس و انگليس نسبت به ايجاد اين خط ارتباطي، شكل همكاري حكام قاينات و سيستان از ديگر مسايل پيش رو در اين طرح بزرگ بود. نحوه تامين و آماده كردن تير تلگراف در مسير خط، تدارك وسايل حمل و نقل، تامين كرايه حمل و نقل، تعيين محل تلگراف خانه و محل اقامت اعضاي هيات سيم كشي، عبور از مناطق كويري خراسان و قاينات، باتلاق اطراف درياچه هامون و شيوه محافظت از سيم هاي تلگراف، از جمله مسايل و مشكلاتي بود كه در هنگام سيم كشي پيش آمد كه در اين مقاله، مسايل فوق با تكيه بر اسناد مورد بررسي قرار مي گيرد. واژگان كليدي: خط تلگراف، بيرجند، مشهد، سيستان، قاجار.

Abstract The telegraph lines were one of the important and fastest public communications means in Qajar era. With the establishment of telegraph office in near or far different places, the news and reports exchanged in a fast manner and decisions and reactions accomplished quickly. First the telegraph line in the east of Iran reached to Mashhad in 1293 Hegira and then its minor subsidiary branches has reached to Sarakhs, Sistan and Dargaz and combined the remote and frontier locations to the centers of power. One of the important east telegraph lines in Iran was the line of Mashhad-Sistan which was built in the year of 1320 lunar. The establishing of telegraph line from Mashhad to Sistan for the reason of distance aloofness and geographical conditions has lots of difficulties. The difference of Russian and Iranian outlook in respect to establishment of this communicational line, the form of collaboration of Ghayenat and Sistan rulers were of the other difficulties fronting them in this great plan. The way of providing and preparing of telegraph draft in line direction, preparing transportation means, determining the place of telegraph office and residing place to the members of wire board, passing from dissert regions of Khorasan and Ghayenat, mire around Hamoon lake, the method of protection from telegraph wires were among the difficulties and problems which come forward in the time of wiring that in this article these mentioned problems has been inspected with the emphasis of document.
