دين را نتيجه پيوند ميان زندگي اجتماعي انسان و پرستش خداي متعال مي‌دانند كه در همه اعمال فردي و اجتماعي براي انسان مسيوليت خدايي ايجاد كرده و انسان را در حركات، سكنات و رفتار خود مسيول مي داند. تاريخ بشر نشان مي‌دهد كه جرم، جز جدايي‌ناپذير جوامع انساني است، اما اين پيوستگي هيچ‌گاه مانع از آن نشده است كه انسان‌ها به شناسايي علل جرم و راه‌هاي پيشگيري از آن نپردازند. دين داراي روح آسماني و محتوايي در سه بخش؛ اخلاقيات، اعتقادات و احكام مي‌باشد. تجلي دين در قالب نهادهاي ديني نظير مساجد، نمازخانه‌ها، حسينيه‌ها و علما، مبلغين، روحانيون و متدينين، تجلي مي‌يابد. دين فرآيندي بشري است كه متولي آموزش آن خانواده، روحانيت، نظام آموزشي كشور و... مي‌باشد. اهميت دين در جامعه تا بدان‌جا مي‌باشد كه فرماندهي معظم كل قوا (مدظله‌العالي) در ديدار با مسيولين، مي‌فرمايند: «سعي كنيد در محيط كارتان و در هر جا كه مشغول فرماندهي يا اعمال مسيوليت‌هاي خودتان هستيد، مجموعه را دين باور و پايبند و متعهد به عمل ديني، بار بياوريد» (عقيدتي سياسي ناجا، 1382: 95). دين داراي نقش‌ها و كاركردهاي تربيتي، اخلاقي، معنوي و نظارتي در جامعه مي‌باشد و اين كاركردها موجبات پيشگيري از ارتكاب جرايم و تخلفات را در جامعه فراهم مي‌نمايد. ايمان به خداوند، ايمان به روز جزا، تدوين قوانين و مجازات‌هاي بازدارنده، صرف كارآمد هزينه‌هاي بيت‌المال و توجه قلبي و عملي به فروعات ديني، جملگي از راهكارهاي پيشگيري از ارتكاب جرايم و تخلفات در جامعه مي‌باشد.

Human history shows mass, is an integral part of human societies, but this continuous has not never prevented that humans not identify the causes and prevention crime. Religion has Holy Spirit and content of the three, morals, convictions and sentences. Expression of faith manifests in religious institutions such as mosques, prayer and scholars, the advertisers, the Clergymen and religious. Religion is a human process that trustee education, family, clergy, and the state education system. Importance of Religion in society is so far as the chief of the Supreme Command in a meeting with officials says:"Try at your workplace and where you are commanding or exercised your responsibilities, making series faithful and committed and dedicated to the practice of religion and religious belief," (political, religious police NAJA, 1382: 95). Religion possesses of roles and functions of in education, moral, intellectual and regulatory in the community and the functions provide prevent crime and violence in the community. Faith in God, faith in the Day of Judgment, legislation and deterrent punishments, efficient allocation of treasury bills and heart attention to the minutiae of religious practice, are all ways to prevent crime and violence in society.
