اثير شاعر قويدست ايران زمين، در سير تحّول سبك از خراساني بعراقي نقش قابل توجّهي دارد. يكي از بارزترين جلوه هاي اقدامات او در اين زمينه آفريدن كلمات مركّب است. اين مولفه سبكي كمتر مورد عنايت پژوهشگران بوده است. در اين پژوهش به اين جنبه شاعري اثير پرداخته شده است. مهمترين هدف شاعر از ساخت و گنجاندن اين واژه هاي مركّب در پهنه اشعارش، نوگرايي و كاستن سادگي و رواني سبك خراسانيست. از آنجاييكه حضور كلمات مركّب در شعر شاعران سبك خراساني نمود كمتري دارد، شاعر با بدست دادن اين تركيبات گام بلندي در تحّول سبك نهاده است. اثير در ساختن تركيبات نسبت بشاعران خراسان آشكارا ازظرفيتهاي بيشتري استفاده كرده و جهت اظهار فضل از اين روش بيشترين بهره را برده است. واژه هاي مركّب موجود در ديوان اثير تحت عنوانهايي چون : تركيب ونددار، تركيب شبه ونددار، صفت فاعلي مركّب، صفت مفعولي مركّب و تركيب وصفي بررسي و تحليل شده اند. در پايان به اين نتيجه ميرسيم كه بسياري از كلمات مركّب بر ساخته اثير تاثير بسزايي در حركت شعر بسوي دشواريهاي شعري سبك عراقي داشته است.
